The National Coalition of Legitimacy, which is led by the Muslim Brotherhood and its supporters, has called for a “Friday of Rejection” demonstration, denouncing the coup and the mass arrests of its members. Friday prayers in Egypt usually lead to protests and ruckus in the streets, but this will be the first Friday since the ousting and arrest of Morsi.The Freedom and Justice Party—the Muslim Brotherhood’s political arm—released a statement Thursday condemning “the terror of the police state through its arrests of Brotherhood leaders and the closure of satellite channels.” Many around the country fear that this will not be a peaceful protest and anticipate violence.
